The SAKK® MAT
The SAKK® MAT is a construction and building maintenance safety device used to access a flat (parapet style) roof.
The SAKK® MAT uses are two-fold – it provides the user with a non-slip surface when exiting the ladder or roof, and it anchors the top of the ladder to protect the ladder from falling over.

Product Design and Data
The SAKK® MAT is made of recycled UV-resistant material, which can be left outside for extended periods of time. The SAKK® MAT can be rolled up and held in place with the wrap-around Velcro for easy storage.
The SAKK® MAT measures – laid out 48″x18″ and rolled up 6″ dia.x18″.
SAKK® MAT is proudly made in the USA.
The SAKK® MAT material is not only recycled but has never been in a landfill that could possibly have contaminated it.
Why we created the SAKK® Mat
Over my 43+ years in the construction industry, contractors have consistently accessed parapet-style roofs using the same, unsafe methods. Despite new safety regulations, this issue has largely been overlooked. Accessing these roofs in inclement weather has only become more challenging and hazardous.

The SAKK® MAT addresses two very important issues:
1) The SAKK® MAT allows the workers a way of anchoring the ladder so it does not move especially if the feet are on an unstable ground. The male and female buckle attachments address this issue.
The old way was using a bungee cord attached to the ladder from the parapet cap or to place a screw in the parapet cap and tie off the ladder with a rope or tie wire. Using a screw in the parapet cap can cause permanent damage to the metal parapet cap. As a result, the wall can be damaged by the ineffective metal parapet cap. This option will not be appreciated by the owners.

2) Once the ladder is secured in a much safer fashion with SAKK® MAT, it also provides a non-slip surface for the workers to step onto. This provides protection from slips and falls, especially during inclement weather. By using the SAKK® MAT there will be no need to use a hammer to chip the ice and snow off the metal parapet cap, which can also cause permanent damage. Simply remove the loose snow and ice from the parapet cap with a standard scraper and attach the SAKK® MAT. A slipping hazard has been resolved.
